James Bond- Casino Royale

Bahamas is one of the most feeric places on earth, this is why the territory was used as a set for lots of movies. Casino Royale is filmed in Nassau, the capital of Bahamas. The movie takes a more contemporary tour of the city, especially the area called Paradise Island, located just over the Atlanis or Paradise Island bridge from downtown Nassau.

One of the most iconic scenes from the movie is when Craig walks through the terraced, statue-filled Italianate Versailles Gardens of the luxurious One and Only Ocean Club.

The resort hotel’s small, stand-alone lobby was transformed into the interior of the Casino Royale where Bond plays his death defying poker match with terrorist financier Le Chiffre.

The One and Only is definitely the rightful Bahamian place for Bond and Lynd to stay in. More precise the scenes were shot in Villa 108. If you take their old room it comes with its own 24-hour personal butler service. The hotel’s outdoor bar, which is perched above Cabbage Beach, may not be in the film, but its luxe setting is perfect for sipping martinis, served shaken, not stirred.

For those who love Greece with all its stunning surroundings, “Mamma Mia! The Movie” may be the best movie to inspire to travel around Greece. The three principal surreal locations where Mamma Mia was filmed are Damouchari, Skopelos, and Skiathos. So, if you are into traveling to bohemian, meditarreanean locations, these are perfect spots to get a flawless tan and be surrounded by breathtaking scenery.

“Mamma Mia” immediately became a smash hit when it was released in the summer of 2008. However, the gorgeous locations used in the film may have stolen the show, inspiring travel to Greece between 2008 and 2018.

Since then, Greek tourism to the destinations that were the most-recognizable settings in the film has increased dramatically. With the 2018 release of “Mamma Mia! Here We Go Again”—a sequel starring Meryl Streep, Cher, Lily James, Amanda Seyfried, and Jeremy Irvine—tourism is expected to spike yet again in the coming years.

Cast Away

The big question when watching Cast Away is where exactly was the Cast Away island anyway? So to know where to plan your next exotic holiday, far far away from the civilization, technology in one word stress.

So, where the Cast Away island exact location is?

It seems that the Cast Away crew chose Fiji, more precise a small island off its western shores named Monuriki, which is part of a group of islands known as the Mamanuca Islands. The island itself is little over half-a-mile long, and its total land area is only about a quarter of a mile.

If you dream about  the exact opposite experience of Cast Away, you can book a reservation at the exclusive Matamanoa Island Resort, located on a small island to the south of Monuriki, where you can enjoy meals prepared by an executive chef, swim in an infinity pool and sleep in your own beachfront air-conditioned bungalow, all for the low price of about USD$400 a night. A bit pricey, but  it’s either that or crash-land on your own island to get the same experience.
