Spring is officially here, which also means Summer is near! Now, on most days, the sun is up; the sky is clear; birds are chirping and outfits are changing- all of which is making us think about one of the greatest outdoor activities of them all: music festivals!
Digging into our memories, we came up with long, fun days abounding in dancing and singing – a joyful prospect that we can get lost into again and again, year after year. Therefore, we took it upon ourselves to raid this year’s music events calendar, and are pleased to let you know that all performances will be EXTRAORDINARY. It was hard for us to pick just a few, but we eventually mapped five of our personal favorites for the upcoming party season.
Coachella 2015, Indio, CA, US | April 10-19, 2015
The official start of the outdoor festival season in the US and Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival go hand in hand. Get ready for an event that features many genres, including rock, indie, hip hop, and electronic dance music, as well as art installations and sculptures.
It’s the greatest way to start your musical adventures and to enjoy the company of enthusiastic people who are all about fun and games. With an eclectic perspective on sound, it’s impossible not to find something for your taste from the insanely cool array of bands: AC/DC, ALT-J, Angus & Julia Stone, Azealia Banks, Caribou, Chet Faker, Chris Malinchak, David Guetta, Drake, FKA Twigs, Florence And The Machine, Jack White, Jamie XX, Lykke Li, SBTRKT, Tyler The Creator.
Glastonbury, Somerset, England | June 24-28, 2015
Foo Fighters, Kanye West and Lionel Richie are the only three names dropped by the festival’s official website and we’re already convinced! Set in picturesque scenery, Glastonbury promises to deliver a five day long party, worth telling your grandchildren about. Get ready for magical moments inspired by the hippie, counterculture, and free festival movements.
Electric Castle Festival, Cluj, Romania | June 25-28, 2015
Electric Castle Festival is the biggest Romanian electronic music dance festival. It takes place annually on the Bánffy Castle domain in Cluj County, Romania. In a nonconformist setting, the festival is a mix between a unique location filled with beauty and history, daylong urban activities (extreme sports, audio-video production workshops) and of course great music. Embrace dancing like a maniac in the warm summer air on the sounds of Rudimental, Fat Boy Slim, The Parov Stelar Band, Netsky, Sigma, The Cat Empire, Apparat, The Subways, High Contrast.
Lollapalooza, Grant Park, Chicago, IL, US | July 31- 2 August, 2015
Oh, here comes Summer! In the middle of the hottest season takes place Lollapalooza. The peculiar name, meaning “an extraordinary or unusual thing, person, or event; an exceptional example or instance” hosts an equally distinct event, held in a green oasis situated in the heart of Chicago, namely Grant Park. With fresh, cool surroundings, all you can do is relax and enjoy this year’s killer line-up: Paul McCartney, Metallica, Bassnectar, The Weeknd, A$AP Rocky, Kygo, Flying Lotus, Gogol Bordello, Stromae.
