HOTTEST EUROPEAN COAST RESORTS

Francis Bacon once said: ‘Travel, in the younger sort, is a part of education; in the elder, a part of experience’, which makes summer holidays a good excuse as any to pack your bags and go for that well deserved adventure. And since July is typically the busiest summer travel holiday month, we’re starting it off by putting together the Hottest European Coast Resorts we’d love to flaunt our favourite pairs of sunglasses at. No matter which sort of fun you’re earning for this summer, you’re in for a treat!

Here are our recommendations:

The Hotel J in Stockholm has a style influenced by the smooth lines and fine craftsmanship of yachting, with amazing views from one of Stockholm’s 14 islands.

A “very romantic location”, with “stunning water views”—including from a floating heated pool—and “the superb ambience” make Villa D’Este on Lake Como definitely a must-visit this summer.

This “delightful and marvellous” Mykonos Grand Hotel & Resort offers for amazing panoramic views of the Aegean Sea, which allow for delicious alfresco dining of the Greek cuisine.

This Irish Lodge at Doonbeg, in County Clare is a great spot of all sorts of entertaining activities, including golf, dolphin watching, hiking the nearby cliffs, treatments in the gorgeous spa or simply enjoy a drink while taking in the great surroundings.

“The view is breathtaking when you open the curtains” at The Blue Palace Resort in Crete, set amid palm and olive trees and jasmine and bougainvillea plants.

“Most spectacular setting with amazing views!” is how people describe the Arion Resort in Astir Palace, Athens. Its private beach is the perfect setting for your next summer holiday.

Hotel Ariston is located on the picturesque Lapad Peninsula, about two miles from the Old Town center of what is known for the “Pearl of the Adriatic”, Dubrovnik. One look at the amazingly picturesque vistas and you’ll know you’ll have the summer of your life.

The dramatic setting overlooking the famed Faraglioni rocks, Le Corbusier design and the seductive mix of antique and contemporary art make Hotel Punta Tragara in Capri an unmissable destination for you and your friends.

Finally, our last recommendation is a very romantic spot in the south of Sardinia, within the sprawling luxury resort Forte Village, where you get around with bikes. The impressive Hotel Castello is located just a short walk from the sea.
