Berlin is a well-known go-to destination for art enthusiasts from all around the world. So, if you enjoy the thrill of fresh art and you happen to be in the city until August 21st, visit the My paper sunglasses exhibition, at SomoS gallery (Kottbusser Damm 95, 10967) . It’s a must!

My Paper Sunglasses is an art initiative developed and curated by Otávio Santiago. He came up with the whole manifestation starting from the notion that sunglasses are a portal through which we see the world; they shape the way we see things as much as they influence the way we are perceived.

An exciting fusion of art, portraiture and fashion; the exhibition reveals an intimate insight into the minds and identities of artists from different areas invited to intervene over paper lenses. Having toyed with this concept for a while, My Paper Sunglasses aims to give sunglasses a new function. From primarily functional to primarily decorative; these exquisite items are about to become a form of visual adornment.

Extra goodies: a silent auction will also be held up until August 21st, when the winning bids for the one-of-a-kind pieces will be announced at the show’s Finissage.

We’re leaving to discover the rest of the participating artists on the project’s website.*
