Julie Newmar as Catwoman in the Batman 1960s TV series

With all the hype around the Nolan brothers’ Dark Knight Rises release, we did a short recap of some of the sassiest and most fierce Catwomans to be brought to life in both movies and TV dramas. Selina Kyle, also known as The Cat, is a fictional character that was born in the spring of 1940, together with the first Batman comic. The drawings for this feline fatale are said to have been inspired by Jean Harlow; definitely not a bad start for one of the very few women super heroes. ‘The character has been one of Batman’s most enduring love interests and has been described as Batman’s one true love.’

So here they are, in all of their glory, all Catwomans that have delighted us throughout the years, starting with the wonderful Julie Newmar that made the character famous through the TV series, Michelle Pfeiffer, which made us all fear Catwoman, Halle Berry, not necessary our favourite miss C, and Anne Hathaway, probably the most surprising Catwoman, in the best kinda way.

And if you’re a Catwoman enthusiast as much as we are, then you’re definitely going to appreciate the exquisite cat-eye selection that sunglasscurator.com proposes to all you super hero fans out there! Scroll to the end of the post to check them out.
